"Ishikawadai" is the oldest ring spinning machine still in operation in Japan, manufactured by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in 1953.
Because it spins slowly, it puts less stress on the cotton, preserving the cotton's original gentle texture and creating an unevenness similar to hand-spun yarn.
The loopwheel knitting machine knits slowly without applying excessive tension to the yarn. Since the fabric is stored under the knitting machine after knitting, the original texture of the cotton is not compromised. This fabric was then dyed with Bengala (red iron oxide). It features a natural unevenness characteristic of natural dyes.
