RUSSELL MANLEY AND BRENT BROOKHART are two guys who understand craftsmanship, style, and what fine quality looks and feels like. Russell, who began his career as a barber in London, opened Ludlow Blunt in Brooklyn in 1994 where he has captured the look, heritage and quality of traditional English barber shops to a tee. No detail has been overlooked–from the antique glass bottles, to the elegant vintage chairs, to the graphic ephemera that lines the walls. Brent, born and bred in the Northeast, is a seasoned connoisseur of American and European menswear who’s worked for many years in the world of luxury Italian sportswear. Russell has been his barber for 10 years. A fact which, as it happens, came up during our visit…“BB: You’ve been my barber for 10 years! RM: Jesus.”
