Lanterns have a long history, dating back to the Muromachi period. At that time, the lanterns that were said to have come from China were not foldable, but at the end of the Muromachi period, the prototype of folding lanterns was created, and this structure became unique to Japan. During the Edo period, candles became popular and spread into people's lives through various evolutions such as flashlights, lighting equipment, and neon signs (signboards). Beams Japan's lanterns are created by adding pop yet traditional designs to such historical lanterns. This is a new approach to traditional items through the BEAMS design filter.
